As part of a strategic partnership, BIONCaRT and Geistlich will combine their expertise in the field of regenerative medicine. The aim of this collaboration is the joint commercialization and distribution of a combined therapy consisting of Geistlich’s Chondro-Gide® membrane and BIONCaRT’s MesemCart cell suspension. The combination of these two technologies is expected to set new standards in the regenerative treatment of cartilage defects and provide patients with innovative therapeutic options.

Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are among the most promising approaches in regenerative medicine. These biologically young cells exert their effects through immunomodulatory and biological signaling pathways that influence inflammatory processes, promote tissue regeneration, and may help preserve the long-term function of damaged joints.
With MesemCart, BIONCaRT is pursuing an innovative therapeutic approach based on these stem cells. The cell therapy is currently being evaluated in a clinical trial with the aim of obtaining marketing authorization for the cell-based medicinal product for the treatment of cartilage damage in the knee.
Geistlich is internationally recognized for regenerative medical products such as the Chondro-Gide® membrane, a key component of the AMIC® procedure, which has become an established standard of care in cartilage regeneration.
